Amalfi Drive:
The most spectacular section is between Amalfi and Positano - approximately 40 km. The road is just two cars wide in many sections, so take care. Passengers may relax and be spellbound. It's so glorious that you will want to make the journey in the opposite direction.
Coming from the north by car:
From Rome reach the main road 'A1'direction south (Napoli) and, after leaving Napoli, take the main road 'A3' to Napoli - Salerno (Not Tangenziale Napoli). At Castellammare di Stabia, take the road to Sorrento and at Meta di Sorrento take the road to Positano - Praiano. Look for the Hotel Onda Verde on your right. You will only see the parking area from the road. Pull your car in and, as your look at the car park, on the left, you will see the entrance of the elevator that brings you to the reception.
Coming from the south by car:
You must exit 'A3' at 'Vietri sul Mare' and follow the sign for route S.S. 163 Amalfitana, Cetara-Maiori-Minori-Amalfi-Praiano. From 'Vietri sul Mare' to Praiano takes around an hour if you don't meet heavy traffic.

We recommend...
As a first step to a tranquil vacation, we advise leaving your own car at home and making use of public transport. Avoid the torturous coastal driving conditions and save the costs of parking (should there be any available at all).
The SITA service offers air-conditioned buses driven by tried and tested drivers as a great alternative to cars and connects the various centres all day long. Using the SITA buses is a really novel and enjoyable experience which is certainly different to that offered by a normal city bus service.
While staying comfortably seated and relaxed you will be able to admire the rugged coastline with its sheer precipices plunging into the sea and floods of curves, each with a breathtaking panorama of its own that varies with the bends in the road.
So...enjoy these beautiful moments even before your vacation has begun, because our curvaceous main road (A163) as beautiful as it is, isn't easy to drive on.
